Transparency
What is Transparency?
Transparency means that AI systems should be:
Understandable (users can grasp how decisions are made)
Explainable (there is reasoning behind outputs)
Clear about usage (people know when they are interacting with AI)
In simple terms:
Users should not be left guessing—AI decisions should be explainable and visible
Why it matters
AI systems can sometimes behave like a “black box”, especially complex models.
Without transparency:
Users may not trust the system
Decisions cannot be challenged or validated
Errors may go unnoticed
